Randomness vs. Fate

Do you believe in fate? I recently had a dicussion with a friend about this. To me, when people resign themselves to their fate they are relinquishing control of their lives over to something they feel has already been decided. No matter what they do from that point on, they cannot escape their fate.

Your path in life is a combination of conscious choices made by yourself and others along with a healthy dose of ramdomness thrown in. This randomness is what keeps me going. I know this has been the topic of countless books and movies, but I just love the random things that life can bring.
